Cities have to face the consequences of climate change ever more often. Thus, the importance of implementing green infrastructures has been highlighted on a european and global level, so as to mitigate these extremes in cities. The city of Zagreb, as well as Dortmund, Turin and Ningbo, have developed the project “proGIreg – Productive Green Infrastructure for Urban Regeneration” in order to ameliorate the quality of life of local communities by introducing naturalistic solutions that also take the need of productivity into consideration.

The coordinator of the project for local activities in Zagreb is the city office for strategic planning and urban development. The faculty of architecture of the University of Zagreb, the city office for physical planning, Komfort Klima and Green and Blue Sesvete NGO are partners of the project.

The activities are promoted by various bodies, among which NBS (Nature Based Solutions).
