181

On 30th September AIPH held its 72nd Annual Congress, for the first time fully online.

Every national association that represents the interests of growers can become Full Member of AIPH. During the last congress, three new members were included from Sweden, Mexico and Vietnam: LRF Trädgård, Ornamental Plants and Flowers Mexico and Ornamental Creature Association respectively.

Regular membership has been granted to thirteen new countries over the last four years, whereas 30 Affiliate Member companies and organisations are now part of AIPH.

The 72nd Annual Congress mainly focused on the “2020-2023 Strategic Plan”, which revolves around 5 key objectives, as AIPH itself shows on its website:
• Stimulate increased demand for ornamental trees, plants, and flowers worldwide
• Protect and promote the interests of the industry
• Be an international hub for industry information and knowledge exchange
• Lead best practice in ornamentals production
• Strengthen national grower associations

Bernard Oosterom, AIPH President and former member of the Chairman Supervisory board at FloraHolland, commented: “I am delighted to be part of this active and growing international organisation that keeps the interests of ornamentals producers at its heart”.

Presentations will soon be available to view on the AIPH website: www.aiph.org
